Yes For Local Health Care
Voters in north Tillamook County have a chance during the May election to create a new era for local health and senior services.
The Nehalem Bay Health District – primarily the communities of Nehalem, Wheeler, Manzanita and nearby rural areas – is proposing a $10.25 million bond measure that, if passed, will transform health care in those communities.
The bond will support construction of a state-of-the-art, expanded Nehalem Bay Health Center and Pharmacy, a facility large enough and modern enough to provide specialty and dental care, and serve more patients close to where they live.
The bond will also renovate and modernize the exiting Nehalem Valley Care Center, a 50-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Wheeler.
And … finance site preparation furthering the health district’s plans to eventually work with a developer to address health care and essential worker housing in north county.
In one project, the health district will address three critical Oregon coast issues – improved local health care, better options for our growing senior population and a strategy for workforce housing.
