Project Off the Grid (ages 8-12) with Anna Kaufman & Denise Monaghan (10 – 12am)
$45.00

This will be a collaborative puzzle class open to students ages 9-12. We will explore the theme of local ecology, focusing on land or seascapes or native flora and fauna. The image chosen may be either a painting reference of a photo. Using acrylic paint and a reference photo that has been sectioned into a grid, each student will randomly be assigned to a section of the larger image. The artists will be tasked with completing a panel over the course of the week. The final showcase will connect each student’s personal investigation to reveal a larger painting. Photos of the collaborative painting will be taken as a memento for each student, before taking their individual piece home.

ECO Mosaics (ages 8 – 15+ ) with Loni Sanders
$35.00 (Mon, Tues, Weds) 10 – 12am
In this class we will gather bits and pieces of plastic, shells and wood from the beach to make a mosaic. Creating a beautiful piece of art while supporting (and cleaning up) our beaches, this project brings nature into the art process. The instructor will provide plenty of materials to choose from to begin, but the process should emphasize found materials as the main focus.

You are encouraged to have a vision of where your work is going as you gather. We will go out on the beach at the beginning of the first class to gather materials. The rest of class time will be spent assembling the mosaics and making collages with remaining materials.
