On behalf of North Tillamook Library Friends — who provide the building and grounds that house our library in Manzanita — I extend heartfelt thanks to everyone in the community who made our annual Memorial Day Book Sale one of our most successful ever! This year’s sale produced just over $7,000 in total revenue, which will enable Library Friends to keep our Library in tiptop shape. Our book sale truly is an annual community effort – from the hundreds of book buyers, of all ages, who came out on Saturday to snap up bargains and make additional donations to Library Friends – to the organizations that
housed the sale — Calvary Bible Church, Hoffman Center for the Arts, and Pine Grove Community House – to the nearly 150 volunteers who worked on sale day and throughout the year preparing for the sale. Overseeing all those volunteers was the volunteer-in-chief, Book Sale Chair, Madeline Olson. The book sale exemplifies the exceptional community spirit in North Tillamook County, and underscores the motto of North Tillamook Library Friends: Building a Community of Learners Since 1987.
