There’s one week (and a whole weekend) left to get your writing submissions in for this year’s Writers Read celebration! The theme is “Beach Noir,” and the deadline is Friday, Feb. 2, anytime before midnight.
this year’s Writers Read theme is “Beach Noir.” Writers chosen to read at the Celebration on March 22 can read in-person or on Zoom. You don’t have to live locally to participate.
Noir fiction often takes place in a dark or foreboding setting, though the tone and descriptions can be unconventional or playful. Other elements may include flashes of humor, flawed underdog characters, or a crime scene. We hope you have fun with the genre!
RULES: All written formats will be accepted (essay, story, poetry, haiku, etc.). Writers may submit up to three entries, 600-word maximum per entry. Submissions will be accepted by email (preferred) or mail. Submissions should be in Word format. Include a separate cover letter with your name, email and phone number – please no contact information on the entry document.
