Come to the Cannon Beach Library for a weekend of amazing writing events! It all starts Friday evening with our 6th annual Writers Read Celebration. Join us March 22nd at 7 p.m. Talented writers will gather to share their works on this year’s theme: “Beach Noir.” From the melancholy to the humorous, hear stories about a ghostly bartender, crustaceans to die for, slovenly detectives, and more – as we celebrate writing, reading, and noir mystery!
Then, come back on Saturday March 23rd, when we will cohost an informal playwriting workshop with the Coaster Theatre Playhouse. Playwright Rob Urbinati will lead the workshop from 3 to 5 p.m. Rob will discuss the craft of playwriting, with a focus on developing ideas for plays, adapting for the stage from other sources, and getting started by writing a 10-minute play. This workshop is open to anyone interested in beginning or furthering their aspirations as a playwright. This is a FREE event being held at the library. No registration is required; show up early to save your spot.
