In the middle of the night I was listening to BBC radio when they reported that Biden apparently called Trump supporters “garbage.” It took a few minutes, but I realized Joe Biden would never intend to say anything of the sort, and it must be disinformation. In the morning I found the quote and quickly understood opportunistic people were intentionally spinning his words to mean something very different from what Biden intended.
I expect that from Republicans who decided to put party over country, but mainstream media is either willfully ignorant or guilty of contributing to the dissemination of false information. Are they that desperate for what amounts to click bait? Do they have no common sense? Did they just follow the lead of other media outlets without bothering to do a few minutes of investigation? What happened to fact checking? And why do they have a double standard when reporting on the 2 parties? Inquiring minds want to know :p
