2024 Theme: “Soar Fourth”

Commemorative posters for this year’s Fourth of July parade in Manzanita will go on sale at the Manzanita Visitor Center beginning Saturday, Jun. 1.

The 2024 posters will cost $30 each. Proceeds from the sale help fund the parade itself, including prizes, signs, supplies, and trash pickup. Copies of several previous years’ collectible posters are also available for $20 each.

The 2024 posters can be purchased by credit card through the “Donate” button on the parade website, or by check or cash at the Visitor Center.

The Center is located at 31 Laneda Ave. It is open Thursdays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Mondays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Local artist Lori Dillon created the poster. “I was both honored and a little intimidated to be asked again,” she said. “I learned a lot doing last year’s poster and had a few ideas floating around in my head for this year’s work.”

Building on the 2024 parade theme “Soar Fourth,” the poster’s prominent feature is a seagull soaring high above Manzanita Beach. “Other soaring objects include kites, balloons, a pinwheel, a rocket and, of course, an American flag – or two,” said Dillon. “I think the spirit of the parade is captured by a figure I included centered at the bottom of the poster,” she added.

Information about the July 4th parade, including the required online registration for participants, can be found at the parade’s official website – manzanitaparade.com. Also included are parade guidelines, volunteer opportunities, the parade route, and much more.

Manzanita’s Fourth of July parade starts at 1:00 p.m. at the corner of Laneda Avenue and Division Street. The traditional, small-town celebration has been a highlight of the summer season for several years.

Copies of the 2024 poster will also be on sale at the Manzanita Farmers Markets on Friday, June 21, and June 28. Artist Dillon will be on hand to personalize posters.
