Just a quick note to let you know that the first outdoor concert of the year is happening this Saturday 6/29 with the “Portland String Queen” herself- Lauren Sheenan!

Lauren is known for her old time blues and country sound- perfect for a evening farm serenade.

Feel free to grab a lawn chair, bottle of wine and some snacks and relax by the river.

Lauren tours, teaches at Pacific University, and has recorded 5 CDs played on radio world-wide, including BBC, NPR, and BBKing’s Bluesville.

Recent appearances on NPR, four CDs that charted in the top 20 on folk radio, a 2012 Portland Music Award for outstanding achievement in Folk, inclusion in the Library of Congress as part of the MusicBox project.

Her most recent accomplishment as guitarist for the CD, The Light Still Burns, companion to the history book Kalamazoo Gals; A Story of Extraordinary Women & Gibson’s “Banner” Guitars of WWII.

She plays banjo, guitar, mandolin and sings “like an angel with horns”

Her guitar work and vocals are inspired by her study with elders and oral traditions. Her shows bring back the intimacy of a back porch, where singing and playing were regular events.

There couldn’t be a better setting to see her do her thing!

All proceeds from ticket sales go to support her music.

Only 25 tickets are sold for these concerts so be sure to grab your spot for this weekend.

Free tea mugs go to our early concert goers this season too!
