In response to dixie’s post on BBQ citing a dubious source that “Oregon has one of the worst voting lists in the nation,” a post followed the next night that showed dixie’s source of information to be spurious (definition: FALSE, FAKE). I emailed her this message:
“tsk-tsk, dixie. check your sources. you are spreading misinformation. i consider misinformation an enemy of democracy. i am praying for a peaceful election. let’s not add fuel to the fire.”

“thedicedwitch” posted the next night, “Makes me so happy to see *someone* finally confront Dixie about her conspiracy theory and misinformation spreading.”
that encouraged me to post my personal message on BBQ as well.
It is a grave disservice to our community and to democracy to spread false information.
