Thank you to Liz Cole for creating a warm and inviting sanctuary at the Pine Grove last week. A packed house of eager listeners attended her reading: “Storytime for Grownups, Connections: the Sequel”
Building on her program from last year, she poured out literary treats, which the entranced audience slowly sipped like the finest wine. There was laughter, some gasps, some tear-streaked faces as she wove us a spell in which we could forget the cares of the day, and just follow the ebb and flow of her voice.

The Pine Grove had been masterfully remade into a mixture of Living Room/Night Club, with Liz on a raised dais, snug in her comfy chair, surrounded by her own lamps reading to “her large children”. There were stories filled with love, sadness and humor: In Praise of Food; A Brief Dive into Chocolate; Angles of Perception, and Final Angles of Perception.

Thank you Liz Cole for a magnificent performance, thank you to the Pine Grove Community House for hosting her with such style and attention to detail. And thank you to those assembled who helped create and share in this brief literary sanctuary.
