ORS 236.210(1) provides that when a vacancy occurs in the nonpartisan office of county commissioner, the remaining members of the county court or board of county commissioners shall appoint a person to perform the duties of the office until the vacancy is filled by election.
The Board, pursuant to statute, must appoint a person who is at least eighteen years old, has been a resident of the county for at least one year, is an elector, and is a United States citizen.
The board has decided that Doug Olson meets the statutory requirements and is qualified to serve as
commissioner.
This order will be discussed and considered at the Tillamook County Board of Commissioners meeting on Wednesday, 10/25/23 at 9:00am at the Tillamook County Courthouse. It is item #16 on the agenda.

When Doug Olson is appointed to fill the Tillamook County Board of Commissioners’ Position #2 vacancy, effective January 1, 2024, he shall serve in that capacity until the vacancy is filled by election.
