Great Decisions Program at NCRD

Submitted By: knappgj@yahoo.com – Click to email about this post
The Great Decisions Program is put on every year by the Foreign Policy Association. The is a national program on American Foreign Policy topics that appears on PBS late in the Spring.

Typically local groups get their materials in the winter and discuss one of the 8 topics weekly. A briefing book is provided at cost and often very lively discussions ensue.
I can order books at a discount for the next week, but I need to know how many are interested in the program.

NCRD’s version usually starts in mid-January and goes to mid-March. We meet on Tuesday afternoon from 1:30 pm till around 3:00 pm in the Fireside Room.

NCRD is located at 36155 Ninth St., Nehalem.

For more information on the program or this year’s topics, email me at knappgj@yahoo.com.

Reiki special for new clients Spa Manzanita

Submitted By: info@spamanzanita.com – Click to email about this post
We’re offering $20 off to new Reiki clients on Thursdays and Sundays at Spa Manzanita.

Sessions can be booked online at spamanzanita.com or give us text/call at 503.689.8679

You might be asking What is Reiki?
Reiki is a wellness practice of energy healing. It is believed to help remove energy blockages and restore the body’s natural balance and harmony. It encourages you to be in the present, to be relaxed and aware within yourself, and to allow energy to flow in your life.

You will be face-up on the massage table, remaining fully clothed, except for your shoes, glasses, phone, and smart devices.

Many people report experiencing imagery and enlightenment, feeling relaxed and more at peace after a session. Some discover profound calmness and quieting of “mind chatter”. Each Reiki session will be a similar, yet a unique experience. It is important to note that Reiki should not be used as a substitute for medical advice or treatment.

NCRD Pool Opening Status as of Friday October 20, 2023

Submitted By: kileyk@ncrdnehalem.org – Click to email about this post
Thankfully, we received permission from the City of Nehalem to begin filling the Pool at the end of last week and the Pool has been filled. During the time the Pool was closed we addressed on-going mechanical maintenance and repairs related to Pool operations.

We are having issues with the boiler that heats the Pool. The motor was replaced Tuesday of this week. Since then, the boiler has shut down 3 times on its own. We are working diligently to bring everything back on-line.

We can not move forward and announce an opening date until the boiler is up and running properly. At this point all we can say with certainty is we hope to know more next week.

Please know that we are doing everything we can to keep our old Pool operational and get it open as soon as we can. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.

Thankfully progress on the new Aquatics Center is going well and one day in the near future we will have a New Pool!
