Hello BBQ community-
Rising Hearts Studio will be open today and tomorrow 11-4. The store is open and full of beautiful gifts for your loved ones- self care options, crystals, jewelry, candles, art and more

Also, as mentioned all week, you are welcome to come sit and be within a safe, supportive, and loving container – I have no counselors available this weekend, but I do have hot tea ready, comfy chairs and plenty of hugs to give.

And, Sacred Scream Session is tomorrow morning-
We will meet at the beach, laneda entrance at 9 AM
Anger is a very valid, and normal response to tragic loss- it must be felt, witnessed, released- please join us for a community expression of anger- to yell, wail, scream within a container of love and support
All are welcome

Please reach out if you need anything- you don’t have to do this all alone.

All my Love – CK

Counselor available, SundayScream Session

Submitted By: Christy@cosmichealingnw.com – Click to email about this post
Hello community

We have a counselor here again this morning until 1 PM- please come in if you need support

Now, I want to talk a little bit about anger. Anger is a normal, very valid emotion, that comes with grief and loss….. especially with unexpected and unexplainable loss.

Anger needs to be felt, to be expressed, to be witnessed, to be released…..

There will be a Sacred Scream Session on Sunday morning at 9 AM, on the beach. We will meet on the end of Laneda, in Manzanita

Please join us, to scream, to cry, to wail- to release some of our anger…..within a safe, supportive and loving container.

Sacred scream session starts at 9AM Sunday, the 24th, at the end of Laneda – the studio will be open immediately after, for tea and community

And Rising Hearts Studio will be open and available as a safe space for our community indefinitely- if I’m in the building, door is always open to you

You do not have fo grieve alone!!

All my Love- CK

Chickens

Need to rehome our chickens as we can’t properly care for them anymore. Pictures are on Facebook under Richard Martin.
There is no fee and if wanted, the coop can go with them, just has to be taken apart.

Malinois looking for experienced home

Submitted By: Frogmonkeys@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
We are looking for a new home for our sweet girl. Turns 1 on December 14. Up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Not spayed, she is still too young. She does good with dogs and ok with cats. Best with bigger dogs. Has been around kids of various ages and does well. She’s still just a big puppy herself. We aren’t asking a rehoming fee just that she can find someone who knows her breed and has the time to work with her like she deserves. She has a wire kennel, leash, and harness. If you’d like to learn more or meet her please email frogmonkeys@gmail.com

Free counter depth fridge

Submitted By: chazkingsley@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
We are passing along our Conserv counter depth fridge freezer. We bought it new 15 years ago and it has worked well ever since.
We want this to go to someone local in need of good fridge that will hopefully provide many more years of service. We’re in manzanita and it will be first come first serve. I’m available the next 24 hours and then away til mid January.
Dimensions: 79” h x 23” w x 24” d (26” with handles). Some wear, and no guarantees, but we’ve been using it as second fridge for the past 4 years without a problem, which we no longer need. It will take a little dolly and a couple people to take away.

NCCWP’s Free Zoom Webinar on Dec 7: Professional Ecological Forester Herb Hammond

Submitted By: Anna.nccwp@gmail.com – Click to email about this post

On Thursday, December 7 at 6:00 pm, Herb Hammond, a forest ecologist and retired professional forester with over 45 years of experience in the fields of forest research, ecologically sustainable forest plans, consultation, and public education, will give a Zoom talk entitled “Forests for Water or Timber: A Clearcut Problem.” Mr. Hammond and his spouse, Susan, co-founded the Silva Forest Foundation, a non-profit organization devoted to research and guidance in ecosystem-based conservation planning. He has helped Indigenous and rural communities across several continents create over 25 ecosystem-based conservation plans. Mr. Hammond has been the recipient of Canada’s Gold Award for Sustainable Living and has authored several award-winning books, including “Seeing the Forest Among the Trees: The Case for Wholistic Forest Use.”

The presentation is being coordinated by the North Coast Communities for Watershed Protection, in collaboration with the Oregon Shores Conservation Coalition, the Lower Nehalem Community Trust, and the Peachland Watershed Protection Alliance (Peachland, BC). In his presentation, Mr. Hammond will address what comprises a healthy watershed, how watersheds provide high quality water in moderate flows, and how water may be degraded by inappropriate human activities. He will also discuss the current health of watersheds, both forested and clearcut, ranging from coastal Oregon to British Columbia. This will provide insight into the direct interactions between deforestation, extreme weather events, and climate change. Mr. Hammond will address what needs to be done to restore and safeguard forested drinking water sources. He will include his personal insights based on his review of reports and images on the current condition of Jetty Creek Watershed, which is the primary source of drinking water for Rockaway Beach. Mr. Hammond’s talk will conclude with a question-and-answer period.

This event is hosted by the North Coast Communities for Watershed Protection (formerly known as Rockaway Beach Citizens for Watershed Protection), a 13-year-old grassroots organization located on the North Coast of Oregon. While NCCWP opposes logging and spraying in all drinking watersheds, we continue to focus on Jetty Creek in Rockaway Beach because it offers the best example of how logging activities were allowed to compromise, and possibly destroy, a town’s drinking water. Our goal is to prevent logging and spraying in our drinking watersheds. Our mission is to raise awareness to accomplish this goal.

Friend With A Truck

Submitted By: badplaceforastump@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Do you have something that needs to go from here to there, and would be easy if you had a friend with a truck? I have a truck, a very flexible schedule, and a ‘Tis the season feel, so get ahold of me if you need something moved
I’m a one-person crew, so can’t do anything too epic without help. But I can definitely offer free transport in the tri-village area for simple jobs through the holiday season.
(My Dad used to be Santa at Lloyd Center, so , yeah…)
