To all BBQers:
Through BBQ, I was able to hire the best painter in the land!

My deck had not been re-stained for at least 8 years and was in need of some TLC. It also had suffered some gouging from an improper use of power wash equipment (not by me). After first contact, I was able to hire a neat, professional, meticulous painter who has come back to repaint my deck railing and do more touch-up on the deck damage. In a couple of months, I may be able to get the south and west sides of my house repainted, too.
The prices were reasonable, and I was able to space the work out according to my extra cash flow. I wasn’t in a hurry, and that was fine. The clean-up was thorough each day. I am pleased beyond all expectation with Joy! She has proven that not all painters are messy, and that they CAN be precise with a brush! As long as I am able and she is available, Joy will be the one I call for painting. She is an Artist!
P.S. Joy is also a most pleasant and kind person. If the above is not enough of a recommendation, email me and you can come see for yourself.
She is available this week. Call or text 503.716.2746

I’m looking for a reliable car with decent gas mileage (at least 25 MPG), preferably under $5k but I can be flexible for the right car.

Automatic or manual transmission OK.

BONUS POINTS:
Clean title, 6 cylinder, Mazda 6, Lexus ES330, Buick LeSabre, Honda Accord, Toyota Avalon, and maintenance history is definitely a plus.

NOT INTERESTED:
2 seater, Subaru/AWD (2WD or 4WD only), Prius, Smart Car, PT Cruiser, German cars, mechanic specials, or anything where parts are hard to find and repairs are costly.

Please email details of your car to: liam@manzanita.tech

Make sure to include year, make, model, price, mileage, condition, pictures if possible, and anything else I should know about the car.

TRADE:
I also have a 2009 Ford F-150 available for trade if interested. Clean title, 230k miles, see pictures below.

ARE YOU A VETERAN

We are compiling a music list for a Veterans Day show at NCRD, but we need your help.

If you served in the military any time between 1950 and 2024, who were your favorite singers and your favorite songs during that time?

We are looking for the names of the singers, names of the songs and any other details you would like to add.
Please reply to pac@ncrdnehalem.org
Thank you!

Bike for 6th grader

Submitted By: marieltasche@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hello northcoastbbq community,

A local 6th grader’s bike was stolen this summer, and I am looking to replace it. I am wondering if anyone is willing to donate or sell for a fair price a bicycle for him, he is 5’8″, so I am guessing an adult bike would be best. I volunteer for a Tillamook County wellness coalition and this recently came to my attention, so I thought I’d reach out to the bbq community.

A huge, heartfelt shout-out to those who dropped off kids’ books this Tuesday at the Food/Clothing Bank. Many, many thanks! Beautiful books!
I will also be there in the parking lot NEXT Tuesday (Aug 15), noon to 3 p.m. Look for my red car with the “Book Drop” sign. What a wonderful response!!

Leftover drywall?

Submitted By: k.r.yurka@gmail.com – Click to email about this post
I thought I had everything I needed to finish a small repair job. It turns out I need just a bit more drywall. If you have a half sheet – or two pieces about 2′ by 2′ each, I would be most grateful!

Text is best to 503 – four seven five – 0975.

Thank you to the folks who responded to the call yesterday for insulation. I have enough now!

Children’s Books Needed

Submitted By: janbehrs@hotmail.com – Click to email about this post
Hello, Kind BBQ-ers: About three years ago, I started stocking the Clothing Bank/Food Bank site in Wheeler with children’s books, since reading is SO vital to kids’ development. It has been a great success.
While the Library Foundation has generously allowed me to pick up their unsold children’s books each year after the book sale, I am actually getting short on books! (Yay!)
Might you have any outgrown books suitable for younger children that you could donate? They can be dropped off at the Clothing Bank between noon and 3 pm on Tuesdays. While I have plenty of middle-school-age books, I am short of books for smaller children. Thank you!
