Repair Cafe Special Event

Heart of Cartm, a North Coast non-profit, hosts a monthly Repair Cafe that isn’t just about fixing broken items; it’s also about sharing knowledge and skills. For the July Repair Cafe, Hear of Cartm has teamed up with White Clover Grange in Nehalem to bring you a truly special event!

In addition to repairing your beloved items this July, we will also be dismantling a beautiful, but un-repairable antique piano to reimagine its parts. Martha Taylor will be leading this activity. She will have wonderful stories to share about her career as a piano repair person in Oregon and will be available to answer all your piano questions. Put this one of a kind experience on your calendar!!

Event Details

Date Saturday, July 20th

Time 3 – 5 pm

Location White Clover Grange, Hwy 53, Nehalem

Expert fixers will be available for diagnosing and repairing: Jewelry, Textiles, Vacuums, Small Appliances, Lamps. We can also assemble furniture, answer questions and show you how to use items that might have you befuddled. Don’t be shy. Let us try!

Register your item to repair at www.heartofcartm.org/repaircafe

You must register your item in advance of the event to have time with a repair person.

We encourage you to come to this event if you enjoy repairing things, taking things apart or just like watching others repair things. Come if you are a curious soul! Come if you want to support repair, reuse and reimagination!

You do not need to register for this event if you are not bringing an item to be repaired.

This is a NO COST service to share skills and divert useful materials from the landfill. While the event is free, your donations are greatly appreciated to help cover operating costs, tools, and materials.

Meal train request for family with new baby

Submitted By: barbaraandchuck@nehalemtel.net – Click to email about this post
Introducing Marlo Belvedere McLaughlin, Chuck and Barbara’s newest granddaughter. She’s here!

Marlo means “drop of the sea.” Belvedere derives from two Italian words: bel, which means “beautiful,” and vedere, which means “view.” It’s also a gorgeous town in CA and a reminder that her parents met in the Bay Area.

Thanks so much to Brianna Rivers for setting up a July meal train for us: www.mealtrain.com/trains/wlg4nq (Venmo option: @ kate-romanov). Thanks to anyone who contributes.

Sending lots of love from the North Oregon Coast!

Tables and miscellaneous furniture at White Clover Grange

Submitted By: vivi@nehalemtel.net – Click to email about this post
Thanks to generous donations from our community, we now have twelve new 8-foot folding tables at the White Clover Grange! That leaves our old heavy tables ready to go to new permanent homes. These are best used in your barn or shop where you won’t be moving them very often.

We’ve got five 6-foot tables and three 8-foot tables leaning up against the ramp on the south side of the building. Come and get them! You’ll also see some miscellaneous chairs and other furniture, yours to take.

We’ve put a donation can out on the end of the ramp, and if you’re inspired to give us $5 or $10 or more, we well happily put it towards the ongoing maintenance of our beautiful and historic building.

Friends of NCRD Flowers for Sale

Submitted By: pattyrinehart@nehalemtel.net – Click to email about this post
Starting tomorrow, Thursday, Friends of North County Recreation District (NCRD) will be selling flowers at the Little Apple Grocery Store in Manzanita. The flowers are picked fresh each morning and taken to the store about 10 AM. Tomorrow’s flowers are being done by Jessie and Shirley, representatives of 1st Security Bank. As long as we have flowers and arrangers, we will have fresh flowers for you at that location 7 days a week. We might miss a few days due to lack of flowers.

Over the years, Friends of NCRD has been able to provide $14,000 for scholarships-about half of which go to the Youth Department at NCRD. Studies have shown kids who attend preschool or after school programs are ahead of the game in academics and social skills. Friends want to do the best we can with our younger generations as they will be taking care of us someday. By supporting our flower sales, we are supporting our kids, who in turn will be supporting us. Thanks!

I’m looking for a tiered way to display wedding cupcakes. If you have one to borrow that would be great. I’ll buy one if needed but it might be the last wedding I’ll need one for, in the family, so I thought I’d see what bbqland has first.
Thank you in advance.

LG Double Wall Oven Combo still in the box

$1100 —LG Smart Double Wall Oven – Microwave Combo
This item is brand new, still in the box.
Stainless Steel. We recently remodeled our kitchen. This oven won’t fit where we originally intended to install it. Had to redesign the kitchen but had already purchased from a store on the east coast. We would have had to pay restocking fees and shipping. Lesson learned….
